Griffith University – Computer & Science Labs

Premis was commissioned to deliver a comprehensive staged refurbishment of six scientific laboratories, a computer laboratory, an AV laboratory, and a suite of offices across multiple buildings at Griffith University’s Nathan campus.

Works were carefully scheduled to deliver the quick turnaround required by the client, and to minimise the impact on other occupants of the buildings. The scientific labs were delivered in six weeks, including relocation and custom joinery. The computer lab was also completed in six weeks, with the AV lab taking four weeks.

The scientific labs – including the Physical Containment Standard 2 (PC2) rated labs and other chemical and analytical labs – required the coordination of a range of complex works to meet the lab users’ specific requirements. The Premis team worked collaboratively with Griffith University throughout the construction of the PC2 labs, with significant attention required to ensure the negative pressure and infection control standards were met.

The project was delivered under a construction management contract.
