USC Health Hub

Premis was recently commissioned to deliver a fit-out for the University of Sunshine Coast Clinical Trials Centre and Health Clinic Tenancy area for the Morayfield Health Hub.

The world-class clinical trials centre’s aim is to bring advanced treatments and breakthrough therapies to the Moreton Bay region, the Sunshine Coast and beyond.

The project was undertaken under a design and construct contract and involved fitting out new reception/waiting area, consult rooms, offices, staff and amenities areas, offices and pharmacy/laboratory area. Mechanical, electrical, fire and hydraulic services were also addressed bringing them up to current standards.

With a medical practice and specialist suites already operating on the ground floor of the building, constant communication with these tenancies was required to arrange supervised out-of-hours access for under-slab hydraulic works. The project also required mechanical plant and equipment to be installed centrally on a mezzanine floor structure, above the tenancy area. Essential power and generator back-up systems were utilised to ensure the onsite facility could manage the -80-degree fridges needed for USC’s clinical trials.
