Education Project Highlight: St Columba’s Primary School
The Premis team has delivered numerous education projects for both schools and universities including:

- New General Learning Areas (GLA’s)

- Sporting facilities including pool upgrades
- Administration areas
- Laboratories
- New infrastructure and upgrades
- Outdoor play areas
One recent project was for St Columba’s Primary School, delivered over three stages and this is what Principal, Martin Wilkie had to say about the team:

In terms of the project, it encompassed three stages:
Stage 1
This involved the installation of new infrastructure so services could be run to allow the relocation of staff. The works encapsulated the relocation of the school’s security, data and power systems — systems that supply the whole school. It also the provision of a new water feed and sewer. In addition to this infrastructure, the school’s new communications room was also built. This allowed staff to relocate to an adjacent building that served as the temporary administration facility, until the new building was constructed.
Stage 2
This stage involved the construction of the school’s new administration facilities, the main feature of the development facing Kedron Brook Road, and the central hub of the school. The first floor of the building was to house the amenities and administration, while the second floor, classrooms and general study areas.
Stage 3
Stage three of the project was the demolition of the old amenities building, including the removal of asbestos from the site and the construction of a high-level covered area with associated external works in its place. All asbestos removal works were carried out over weekends or after-hours when no school student or staff were present on-site to ensure safety.
