We’re proud to share that Premis has been recognised in the Community Service Facilities category at the 2025 Master Builders Brisbane Awards for our delivery of the new Everton Park Library.

Delivered for Brisbane City Council, this project represents a significant investment in public infrastructure, designed to support education, connectivity and community growth for years to come. The new facility replaces the ageing 1990s library with a modern two-storey building that more than doubles the previous floor area. It now features undercroft parking, flexible community and event spaces, energy-efficient systems and a dedicated children’s zone tailored for early learning and interactive play.

The design pays homage to the site’s history with a striking sawtooth profile on the façade, a subtle nod to the former sawmill once located there. Throughout the building, modern features are combined with practical enhancements. Operable walls allow for flexible space use, bespoke joinery creates a warm, welcoming environment, and extensive glazing invites natural light throughout.

A standout element is the triangular double-glazed units framed by Sculptform cladding along the front facade. These deliver both aesthetic impact and high acoustic performance, ensuring a peaceful interior despite the library’s location on a busy main road. At the rear, full-height glazing offers expansive views and an abundance of natural light, enhancing the building’s sense of openness and connection to the surrounding landscape.

Construction highlights include a post-tension suspended concrete slab supported by pile cap piers, steel frame construction and featured precast concrete panels. Additional features such as custom lighting at the entrance, accessible amenities, automatic doors, a quiet room and terrace areas that connect seamlessly to Fallon Park make this a truly community-focused facility.

The project also included the transformation of the old library footprint into green space, further integrating the library into the broader recreational precinct with new turf and pathway connections to Fallon Park.

The Everton Park Library win reflects the strength of our delivery team and the quality of our partnerships. Thank you to all our subcontractors, consultants and project partners. This award is the result of solid coordination, technical expertise and a shared commitment to doing things well.

This award win is a proud moment for Premis and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

A heartfelt congratulations to our entire project team, the talented design team at Bureau Proberts and Brisbane City Council. Together, we’ve delivered a space that will support and inspire the Everton Park community for generations to come.
