Premis is proud to have completed the construction of the new consolidated clubhouse at Finsbury Park for Brisbane City Council.
This project was initiated in response to the extensive damage caused by the severe weather event in February 2022, which saw the parklands and the original clubhouse completely inundated with flood water.
The new facility replaces both the former Hockey and Cricket Club buildings, with a contemporary structure designed to be flood-resilient and better positioned adjacent to Enoggera Creek. Following demolition of the existing buildings and the safe removal of asbestos, a new building platform was established, lifting the facility above previous flood levels.
The clubhouse is a concrete, brick, and timber structure featuring a slab-on-ground foundation, core-filled blockwork walls, steel trusses, and a Colourbond roof. External glazed walls provide clear views across the playing fields, while internal spaces have been designed for function, durability, and community use.
The completed facility includes two modern change rooms, a dedicated first aid room with referee amenities, public and accessible toilets, clubroom space, and a commercial-grade kitchen and bar, fitted with stainless steel benches and a full beverage system including a cold room. Additional inclusions such as acoustic plywood and stainless-steel ceiling linings, integrated joinery, and an upgraded audio system ensure the clubhouse is both functional and welcoming.
A separate 10×12 metre storage shed has been installed alongside a new eco water tank to support ongoing club operations. The project also involved the integration of a security system and all essential services, including a substantial gas hot water system.
Designed with future growth in mind, the new Finsbury Park Clubhouse reflects the character and footprint of the original buildings while delivering a modern facility for sport, community events, and spectators alike.
