University of the Sunshine Coast – Clinical Trials Centre

Premis was engaged to deliver a fit-out for the USC Clinical Trials Centre and Health Clinic Tenancy for the Morayfield Health Hub, under a D&C Contract arrangement.

The world-class clinical trials centre’s aim is to bring advanced treatments and breakthrough therapies to the Moreton Bay region, the Sunshine Coast and beyond.

The project involved the fit-out of a new reception and waiting area, consult rooms, offices, staff and amenities areas, pharmacy, and laboratory. Mechanical, electrical, fire and hydraulic services were also upgraded to meet current standards.

With a medical practice and specialist suites already operating on the ground floor of the Health Hub building, constant communication and collaboration with these tenancies was required to arrange supervised out-of-hours access for under-slab hydraulic works. The project also required mechanical plant and equipment to be installed centrally on a mezzanine floor structure, above the tenancy area. Essential power and generator back-up systems were utilised to ensure the onsite facility could manage the -80 degree fridges needed for USC’s clinical trials.
