This complex project at Red Hill in Brisbane, consisted of a full interior and exterior refurbishment of two dilapidated buildings.
The site’s location on a busy main road within a suburban retail and residential precinct, meant limited access and set down points making delivery challenging – in addition, height restrictions presented challenges with the installation of large equipment.
The existing buildings were in poor condition, the rear building in particular required extensive structural rectifications to repair failing blockwork walls, the removal of concrete cancer from lintels, and the provision of bracing and tiedown elements necessary in supporting the structure for its proposed future use.
An elevated walkway was installed providing a link between the buildings and created additional space for one of the tenancies. Mechanical, electrical and hydraulics were re-installed throughout the facilities, and six new tenancies including the practice were ultimately provided.
